The canal to the east of King Street, West Deeping

We gathered in King Street outside St. Andrews House where the canal crossed King Street. The route of the old canal passes through various private gardens and reaches open country to the east of the village alongside the River Welland.

The canal ran to the left of the River Welland, any remains are under ploughed land.

The canal ran to the north (left) of the River Welland. Any remains are under ploughed land. Old maps show the towpath between the river and the canal.
